    San Sebastián del Oeste es una población de origen minero que tuvo sus mejores momentos en tiempos de la Colonia cuando llegó a los 20.000 habitantes. Sin embargo, en el siglo XIX, muchos de ellos partieron hacia otros rumbos, principalmente por el cierre de las minas.

    Una excelente manera de llegar a San Sebastián del Oeste es a través de la nueva carretera 70 Puerto Vallarta-Guadalajara. El pueblo está ubicado a sólo 60 kilómetros de Puerto Vallarta.
